Nanoelectronics is an emerging field with tremoundous potential in applications. Being a thrust area of research, students and practising engineers are expected to have the basic notions of this engineering field. The preliminaries for understanding Nanoelectronics a multidisciplinary field are included in particular, the basics of Quantum mechanics. Those who want an in-depth knowledge can use it as a springboard to dive into classic works in the respective fields. We could not have completed the book without the help and assistance of so many. It goes without saying that we are indebted to many eminent writers for their classic treatises and many websites which we referred to for the preparation of the manuscript.
