Literature and/as Identity is a collection which includes short stories, poems and autobiographical writings on the interstices and the tensions of identity, the way the identity problem is critiqued and reworked within various modes of narration. These writings involve negotiations of diasporic identities, South Asian regional identities, life writings from the margins, indigenous identities and alter identities within literature. Through such a selection, an attempt has been made to sensitise the students to the subtleties involved in consolidating and constructing identities. The book appeals for a critical engagement with the sense of the given social markers of identity consciousness. Dr. Saji K.S is an Associate Professor, B P C College, Piravom, Ernakulam, Kerala.
